Haleeva Sunshine Hotel

Better than it looks

Photo of Haleeva Sunshine Hotel, 445 Moo 2, Ao Nang. , Ao Nang

What we say: 3.5 stars

This fairly large concrete structure looks rather garish from the front, but it offers bright, well-kept rooms with lots of extras and overall it's pretty good value. The cheapest rooms are located upstairs -- be sure to ask for one facing the back of the building as these have cliff views rather than street views for no extra charge. The rooms have loads of space filled in with soft beds on raised platforms, desks, TVs, fridges, small LCD TVs and a few windows. The grand superior gets you extra space while the deluxe has a separate living room towards the pool with paintings of elephants. Surprisingly artistic white and green glass basin sinks are found in the deluxe bathrooms, which also feature rain showers and jacuzzi tubs. A small pool isn't a bad spot to unwind and the cliff views aren't too shabby. WiFi is free, bicycles and motorbikes can be rented and the professional staff offer a range of tour services, though a lift to the upper floors isn't one of them. While this is a good 15 minute walk to the beach, it's right on the main road so it's easy to catch a songthaew.
