Yes, Saladan has a beach, and it's a good one too, with fine white sand, clear water and views across the bay to Ko Lanta Noi.
Apart from one characterless beach resort, the only place to stay is the nondescript M.P. Place, which occupies a cement building with surprisingly charming, comfy and well-kept rooms. Each is spacious and fully equipped with soft bed, desk, fridge, TV and modern hot-water bathroom, though the biggest selling point are the glass doors that afford sweeping ocean views and open onto wide furnished terraces. You can pay a little less for a room that faces inland, but the sea views from bed are more than worth it. This is a fairly small guesthouse run by a very friendly and sincere local man and his family. If it's full, Lanta Residence Boutique is larger and less personable, though also good value, and not too far away along the road to Ao Kaw Kwang. M.P. Place is an easy walk to several quality eateries.
