Lanta House

Dirt-cheap private rooms

What we say: 3.5 stars

Most travellers looking for a room in Saladan take an immediate right from the ferry pier. If you want one of the cheapest private rooms on Lanta, go straight instead, then take the second left into the side road. Next to the CP Fresh Mart you'll find the nondescript Lanta House in an orange concrete shophouse. While this is far from luxury, all rooms are private and represent good value. Each is well-kept and surprisingly spacious, though no furnishings are included apart from a soft bed and ceiling-mounted fan. The rooms are accessed from a hallway; only the front room has a window looking outside but all have a window facing back into the hall to provide a little air flow. One small hot-water shared bathroom is found by the staircase on each floor. The woman who showed us around was welcoming and polite, WiFi is free and toast and coffee are available in the morning. On the other side of CP, Hula Hula House has a similar setup and price range.
