We like Phra Nang purely because it dares to be different.
The tightly packed resort makes up for a lack of overall space with a Moroccan design and loads of tropical greenery surrounding a beach-side swimming pool. Rooms are in an attached building with yellow stucco-looking walls and circular towers, lending the feel of a Mediterranean villa. The 15 rooms are individually designed, with signature features including seashell art and a tree that bursts through a balcony. Interiors are spacious and very bright thanks to wide windows and soft pastel colours. Rooms include soft king-size beds on raised platforms, sofas, TVs, fridges, safes and bathtubs in the airy bathrooms. Service is attentive and cheerful. Facilities include a swimming pool and spa. If you prefer a Balinese rather than Moroccan theme, neighbouring Baan Lanta is another tightly packed resort on the northern stretch of Kantiang beach with comfy rooms at similar rates.
