Occupying a huge area on what feels like a private beach, Twin Lotus is one of Lanta's best choices for honeymooners.
The faultless design incorporates an attractive two-storey building with a sloped wood panel roof that almost resembles a billionaire's yacht. This is where you'll find the cheapest (though by no means inexpensive) rooms, which achieve a sort of rustic-chic design that relies on faded dark hardwood floors, soft lanterns, rattan touches and carefully chosen colours that include deep aqua, muted grey and dark violet. The detached, dark-grey polished concrete villas are stunning, with separated living areas, bamboo doors, light cotton touches and whole walls of glass to let in the sea views. The resort boasts two gorgeous swimming pools, fitness centre, spa, beach bar and fine-dining restaurant. We liked Twin Lotus a little better than neighouring Costa Resort, though it's another fine upscale choice with a similarly sophisticated attitude. Good deals can be scored at Twin Lotus if booking well in advance.
