Named after its Swedish owner, Hans is best known as a restaurant that sells a good mix of Thai and European fare, but a handful of simple wood and bamboo bungalows are also found in a sandy area just back from the beach.
The rooms are basic and a bit dusty, with soft mattresses on raised platforms, mosquito nets, a few windows, cold-water bathroom and good-size front porches. Especially considering Khlong Dao's shortage of simple beach bungalows, these should be acceptable in the backpacker range. The good-natured staff are a light-hearted crew who seem to enjoy chatting with their customers more than waiting on them. Closed for the rainy months.
