The New Coconut is a tightly packed little resort that always seems to be bustling with activity.
Rooms are stacked close together beyond the pool, which itself is just back from the beach. The bamboo fan bungalows with cold-water bathrooms come with hardwood floors and porches but are rather small and have minimal windows, so we would imagine they get hot at night. Air-con editions come in either wood cabins or an attached concrete building and get you hot water, fridge and TV. These are well kept and priced lower than similar rooms at several other Khlong Khong resorts. Most of the staff members are helpful enough, and the bartender is one of the friendlier characters on Khlong Khong. While there's nothing terribly exciting about this place, it has a fun atmosphere and is worth keeping in mind if your first choice is full. With that said, it may not be a good idea to book online as the rates we saw on Agoda were 300 baht higher than what we were quoted as walk-ins. We were unable to get a clear answer on low season rates. Nearby Family Resort has similar fan and slightly better air-con rooms for more cash, but no pool, and Lantas Lodge has comparable air-con rooms plus a lot more common space, but also at higher rates and also no pool.
