Lanta il Mare is a great place to stay, with spacious deluxe bungalows and a swimming pool located in the central area of Khlong Nin. Staff are very well organised and friendly, speaking excellent English. Even the maids were keen to get in on the friendly atmosphere when we were there, chatting and doing their best to make us feel welcome. The resort is quite small, with a stream running down in front of the resort and onto the beach. The beach area is great for swimming, better than many other areas along this somewhat rocky bay. Several kinds of bungalows are on offer, but especially good are the large family rooms. All rooms are clean and spacious.

Be better if they cleaned the beach

The resort is located at the northern end of Khlong Nin, not central as Travelfish describes. The beach in front of the the resort is also rocky and not good for swimming. The central part about 300-400m south is better for swimming. But sadly during low season the resorts don't bother cleaning the beach and it was full of rubbish including lots of broken glass. Not good for adults let alone kids. The resort itself is small but with nice bungalows. The small pool is better for swimming than the unkept beach but in high season would be too crowded. Yes the rooms are clean and spacious and we liked them but the unclean beaches throughout most of the island was a big disappointment. Pricewise you can bargain a beachfront room down to 900 baht in low season. No breakfast is offered in low season though. If the staff bothered to clean the beach we would rate it higher. Kantiang Bay is the best beach for swimming, which is 10-15 minutes by bike further south.
