Lanta Nature Beach Resort
A popular choice

What we say:
Lanta Nature Beach is a popular choice offering basic fan rooms through to deluxe beachfront bungalows. All are kept very clean and have private balconies. They also have blue-tiled concrete bungalows on the opposite side of the road that are even bigger than the beachfront rooms. A water feature between the bungalows and restaurant area was getting low on water when we visited, giving it a bit of a tacky look. The concrete bungalows on the beachfront and across the road have large undercover balconies with chairs, a good place to chill out even when it's raining. A good restaurant and bar has relaxed seating areas by the beach. This is a solid midrange option in the heart of the beach. Rates remain reasonable and the size of the rooms is the resort's main selling point.

decent budget accommodation on Lanta
I stay here for a couple of nights in January. It was the peak season and the rooms were expensive for its class. I paid about 1500 bht a night for a bungalow. For the first night, I stayed at the older bungalows nearer to the beach. The room was basic but functional. Bed was a little too old and I could feel the springs through the cushion. The next day, I switched to a newer bungalow on the other side of the road. It was a much more pleasant night as the beds were more comfortable, and the room was more well-maintained. The beach was nice and the food at the restaurant was fantastic. The seafood is fresh, and they have a nightly barbeque where you pick the day's catch and have it prepared your way. The lack of a television made a city rat like me feel a little anomic, but in my opinion, at a place like Koh Lanta, watching the sunset and the star-lit sky at night was well worth the sacrifice. There are mats, cushions and logs for you to lie down on the beach, but bring along your mosquito repellant. Not for fussy travellers, but if you rough it a little, this place would suffice. If you could, going during the low season would save you quite a bit.

Lanta Nature Beach Resort
We stayed 2 weeks at the resort and had a great time. We had two bungalows with a sea view and a large terrace. Rooms are nice with two beds, frig, AC, westerns toilette and a hot shower. Food was good. IThe beach is beautiful. In front of the hotel are some rocks but a few minutes away one can swim without any problem. The location is perfect as there are several restaurants near by so that you can try different cuisine. For the best snorkeling take an excurstion to Koh Rok. I definitely recommend this resort.
