Run by an ultra-laid-back Thai couple and their lazy cats, The Hut feels like it was transported from Khlong Khong or the backpacker village on the northern part of Haad Phra Ae.
A small collection of bamboo bungalows are set close together off the inland side of the road under the shade of several trees. We found them to be of a slightly higher standard than the more expensive huts found across the road at the Roundhouse, and the beach is only an extra 30 metres away. Each room comes with clean private cold-water bathroom with flush toilet, reasonably comfortable mattress covered in good mosquito net, fan and porch with a couple of chairs. The owners do home-cooked Thai food and a few cocktails in the cosy open-air roofed eatery. Just across the lane, Yang Guesthouse appears to have a very similar setup, though no one was around when we stopped by. A bit further up the road, Charley Barley's has far older and dirtier wooden bungalows for the same prices.
