Blue Sky is one among many small budget bungalow joints in this area, but it stands out thanks to the owner who actually stands up and greets potential guests, as opposed to the usual grumpy and/or lazy approach.
While simple, the rooms are also a small step up in cleanliness and comfort. Stilted fan bungalows have high ceilings, woven bamboo walls, sturdy hardwood floors, screened windows, comfortable beds with good linens and mosquito nets, simple cold-water bathrooms and spacious porches with tie-dyed hammocks. A few air-con rooms are also available in an attached concrete building with hot water but no other extras. The mini resort is set back behind a couple of beach restaurants and bars, allowing you to see the ocean and hear the thumping late-night tunes. If you prefer to be a step closer to the beach, neighbouring Somewhere Else Bungalows has more run-down rooms at similar rates.
