Lanta L.D. Beach Bungalows
Standard accommodation

What we say:
Lanta L.D. Beach Bungalows (previously Sandy Beach Bungalows) has clean but somewhat shabby bamboo bungalows with tiled floors set along a wide stretch of beachfront, while newer air-con concrete bungalows will appeal to those seeking more comfort. The area was once a coconut plantation so there is plenty of space. They've put up a volleyball/takraw court on the grass for when it gets busy and everyone can join in. Staff have a very relaxed style, meaning bungalows are sometimes not cleaned and the area gets a bit dirty. But they are friendly enough and are happy to do any tasks when reminded.

i stayed in one of the concrete bungalows with private bathroom and a/c for 800B (which are futher away from the beach). aside from hundreds of ants that were settling comfortably in the bathroom, the bungalow was great! extremely clean (aside from ants) and had a TV and fridg, that i didn't use. it's a short walk to the nice, relaxing beach and there are a good number of restaurants to choose from nearby.

a good one
The bungalows here are cheaper than average and still quite nice. Some of the nicer ones are almost on the beach which is far less populated than the stretches to either side. It is close enough to the funky fish and mr. wee's that you can find really good food and far enough that you cant hear the bars blasting trance all night. warning: beware renting motor bikes from here as they are not insured and the owner of the bikes (separate from the owner of the bungalows)is a horrible old woman who will try to extort money from tourists for even the smallest scratch.
