Set just back from the beach in the middle of northern Long Beach's backpacker village, O-Zone is quite a bit friendlier than most.
The stilted woven bamboo bungalows are set in two rows that face one another, making it easy to chat with neighbours from the comfort of your porch hammock. All rooms are reasonably well kept and come with the basics: fan, double mattress on raised platform, mosquito net, a couple of windows and partially open-air cold-water bathroom. The place is run by a local family who were very cheerful and welcoming as they lounged on the little hangout sala that serves as reception. Rooms are discounted by 150 baht per night if you stay five nights or more. Closed for low season. Nearby Sea Pearl Resort has very similar bungalows for roughly the same rates, though the welcome we received there wasn't quite so friendly.
