Phi Phi Villa Resort
Efficient and well run

What we say:
Phi Phi Villa Resort has a handful of different styles of rooms, most of which are either freestanding chalets or adjoining bungalows. Rooms are of a good size, though the concrete finish in the bathrooms didn't really do it for us. All the bungalow options are air-con, with TV, while their cheaper rooms are fan-cooled and in a building out back (which we didn't see). There's a medium sized pool on site which is overlooked by the upstairs restaurant and a good strip of sand yawns out front. We were told it was a private beach, though it was unclear how they actually enforce that privacy. For this area of Ko Phi Phi the rates are competitive. Expect considerable noise from the nearby beach bars come the evening.

upgrades and new building
I stayed in both the deluxe bungalow and the deluxe room in the new building. Both were fabulous. Phi Phi Villa Resort have been on a programme of upgrades in the last months creating new rooms, new reception and business area and new cafe on the beach. The style is really now that of a boutique resort. The new style rooms are very much in the boutique hotel style - modern, luxurious and comfy. I always felt happy to go back to my room from the beach. Beach was beautiful and close to the rooms. The staff were also friendly and helpful. www.phiphivillaresort.com
