Phi Phi The Beach Resort
A beautiful addition to the island

What we say:
It's difficult to miss Phi Phi The Beach Resort as it slowly spreads over the hillside behind Long Beach. The oversized bungalows, with their equally oversized verandas, really make no effort whatsoever to blend into the surrounds but the payoff from this legion of wooden mushrooms is for the guests, who get to enjoy tremendous views across the water to the distant cliffs and Phi Phi Leh. Rooms are well decked out and more seem to be being added continually as we spied another set of pavilions for a new back row while faffing around in the woods trying to find Ao Poh. There are a lot of rooms and the back rows are a long and quite steep climb from the beach and restaurant, so keep that in mind. They're a tad overpriced for the standard, but competitive for Long Beach. In high season reservations are strongly recommended. Nearby Phi Phi Hill offers the same views at a fraction of the price (high season only).

Awful Experience
Did the Travelfish reviewers actually go to this place? HORRIBLE. Longtail boat picked us up at the ferry but made us wait an hour to see if others showed up to take the ride with us to the hotel (noone did). When we finally arrived, we saw the rinky dink restaurant/bar area and tiny, lackluster pool. With such beautiful natural surroundings, you would think they would try a bit harder to design the hotel grounds. Our bungalow had no view, an old, tiny and very grungy bathroom, and about a hundred mosquitos festering outside of our front door. We asked the front desk to see a different room, letting them know that $89 a night (in the low season) renders nicer accommodations. The receptionist said that we would need to pay more if we wanted a nice room. Rude and unhelpful staff. We got a refund and left immidiately. The receptionist did not seem to care about losing customers even though the ''resort'' was basically empty. No wonder. Not worth the trouble when you're in Ko Phi Phi. We went to the Phi Phi Island Village Resort and for the same price stayed in a gorgeous bungalow on a private stretch of beach. Do yourself a favor and save yourself from the disappointment that is Phi Phi The Beach Resort.

Nice bungalows
We were in the bungalows up: new, spacious, really nice and clean; restaurant ok; agreeable bar;nice beach ;sometimes weak flow and a little orange coloured water at the shower and the beach (many nice fishes) a little noisy (saw)at the daytime because they go on building bungalows
