Phitarom PP Resort

Stunningly secluded views

It's a long climb up a lot of steps to the villas here and the views are great. The rooms have hardwood floors, fridges, satellite TV, safes and air-con, with reasonably-sized balconies that offer little privacy. Rooms are sizeable, with huge comfy beds and a pleasant bathroom, which in the luxury suites is larger than the average backpacker bungalow alone. The staff are quite friendly and welcoming and the on-site restaurant serves authentic Thai food. A small pool is located at the heart of the resort. Phitarom is worth the money if you are looking for that cool, traditional design feel. You can find good online deals to save a few bucks. Although it's not that cheap, the location is great and if you're up for a splurge you could do far worse. The Super Deluxe rooms are higher up, so therefore a slight workout as far as the steps are concerned, but well worth the extra money as their balconies are far more private.

Pool - 14th January, 2008
...Oh and the pool does it exist. It's not massive but it does the job and Phitharom provide sun loungers and parasols to laze around with. It would be better if there was a bar at the pool though.

It's great - 14th January, 2008
My partner and I stayed here over New Year. It was absolutely fantastic. Narong the general mangager is very warm and friendly. We stayed in a superior room which was great. Just what we needed. Clean, cool, good location (only 5 mins to the town but far away enough for it to be peaceful still) and perfect views over the beach and bay. The breakfast is nice, but it gets a bit repetitive if you stay there for long. Overall this place is great and I would thoroughly recommend it. :)

Pits - 2nd January, 2008
We booked in our friend there whilst we stayed further up the road. His room was nice but there were many steps to climb up to it. The staff were very hostile when we went to meet our friend there, they seemed terrified that we might use their pool (it is there but is very small).
