Description
Packed in at the end of a narrow alley in Ton Sai village, this anomalous little place is half-hotel, half-guesthouse. The rooms are cramped, but they all have air-con, fridge, and TVs with DVD players -- as well as private baths. All rooms have optional air-con in the low season, but mandatory in the high season. A lot of people seem to be willing to make the trade off between space and extra comforts, so it's usually full. The place doubles up as a steak house, mainly serving Scandinavian crowds, and as such the rooms are often with Swedes and Danes.

Total rooms: 17

Dbl fan private b'room
800 THB (low season) 1,000 THB (high season)

Dbl A/C private b'room
1,100 THB (low season) 1,300 THB (high season)

Good value for money -

We stayed at two different rooms in this hotel. The first was only 1,000B with air-con. A very small room but it is clean and taken care of. But this room was in the new area (where the reception is) and it's very near two loud bars. Don't expect to sleep until 2am (Thai curfew). The second room was in the older building above a restaurant. This had more room and wasn't loud. It was our cheapest room of our entire holiday and was very OK. It doesn't include breakfast, but you get a 10 % discount for the AC Anderson restaurant. It is also in the middle of the town and near a 7-eleven. So if you plan to party, you can stay at any room. But if you intend to sleep early, make sure you have a room in the old building.

Kinnaree House
Ton Sai village, Ko Phi Phi
One of only a handful of places that's actually located in the streets of Ton Sai village itself, Kinnaree bills itself as a boutique guesthouse and it makes a great first impression. Ceramic frangipanis studs the reception's concrete floor, and its blue-painted wooden facade stands out from... more

Phi Phi Hotel
129 Moo 7, Ton Sai village, Ko Phi Phi
The Phi Phi Hotel was badly damaged by the tsunami, but has rebuilt and reopened. The initial effect upon entering is that of a flash, high-class hotel, but on closer inspection -- yikes! The cheaper rooms have no balconies and views of crummy alleys. The more expensive rooms have more amenities... more

Phi Phi Inn
Ton Sai village, Ko Phi Phi
This place was just about wiped out by the tsunami, but it bounced back quickly and has been back to its old self for quite a while now. Owned by the same family as nearby Pier Guesthouse, the Phi Phi Inn is a slightly wealthier cousin, with nice hotel-style rooms with tile floors, TVs, fridges,... more
