Description
The bungalows here get the aesthetics just right. They're rustic without being too shabby, made of teak wood, spacious and full of that 'bungalow in the jungle' atmosphere. The cheaper rooms have mattresses on the floor without bed-frames, with very good mosquito netting provided, and bathrooms of the sunken-stonework variety. Some of them are rather high up on stilts, providing views of the small valley below from the balconies, which have hammocks. The more expensive rooms are at the top of the hill, right near the pool and nicely done, though the floors are quite bouncy and bendy. The prices aren't exactly cheap but it's a unique atmosphere. Only breakfast is served on premises, but the main attraction is the swim-up bar at the small pool, right behind the reception desk; unfortunately it often empty due to water shortages on the island. There's also two baht-per-minute internet available on site. The staff here get high marks from Travelfish users. A great spot for a memorable stay on Phi Phi. Recommended.

ok for Ko Phi Phi -

TGB is in a great quiet location, night-time sounds should be nothing but frogs, not disco noises. However Ko Phi PHi is full of the gap year brigade who will wake you when they come home, so be prepared to do some shouting back if disturbed, they've got to learn.

Bungalows are simple but clean: 1000 baht gets you no hot water, mossie net, fan. Ours was very dark and the place is mossie central. Breakfast/bar area is lovely and airy. Staff got friendlier the longer we stayed. Not met at pier but it is only about 5 minutes walk.

Ko PHi Phi is under construction still so lots still to do, but TGB is probably one of the better deals if you have mossie coils and a torch!

Great Relaxing Spot -

Really nice unpretentious relaxed atmosphere. Clean rooms, great pool. A beautiful garden retreat with genuine caring staff. No hesitation in recommending this to real travellers who appreciate simple down to earth quality and style, as opposed to tacky ritz and glitz. This is proudly a 'no stars' facility with no bulls**t.

Good place -

It's true that no one showed up at the pier when I arrived, but I asked at the tourist point and after they made a call someone came within 10 minutes. The place is located at the very end of the street close to the viewpoint, which was a blessing because it guaranteed quiet nights (besides when noisy neighbours would come back drunk at 4am...).

Reception was good and staff very friendly. I paid 1,000B for my bungalow: it was basic, but pleasant, all wooden, mattress on the floor with mosquito net. Simple furniture and bathroom attached. The fan indeed was too small, the table kind and not the ceiling kind.

The pool was completely empty when I got there: no big deal as on Phi Phi island I wasn't really fussed about the pool, but the problem was that water on the island was scarce and for one day we had water available just in the evening (next day was back to normal though). I heard other places experienced the same problem. Some other guests complained about water pressure, but I didn't have that problem (maybe effecting higher bungalows). There's a restaurant too, but I did not try the food there.

On check out day, they let me use shower facilities before I boarded the ferry.
Overall was a fairly good experience, especially considering the difficulty to find decent lodging on the island.

So bad we checked out immediately! -

Where to start. Read Travelfish review and saw their website. Note no pictures of rooms -- why because they are pretty basic for 1,200B. Thin wood walls with holes big enough for mosquitos, very small with fan. Tiny bathroom and best of all, pool was half full of festering water. Well was dry so no pool. We had to transfer money and even though requested pick up that day, no one showed or seemed to care. Positive feedback, they gave us our money back. You can find much nicer on Phi Phi for 1,200B.

we had the same dissapointment - No rating given

We tried emailing them 3 times for reservations with no reply. Granted it was 3 weeks out and the begining of November but still. We had to make reservations with another place.

Chunut House
The Ao Lo Dalam/Ton Sai Road, Ko Phi Phi
This collection of wooden bungalows located among stone-work steps on the hillside is just the kind of thing Ton Sai village needs but never seems to provide. The bungalows have beautiful interiors with lots of creative touches, green things growing from sconces on the walls, and raised platforms... more

Garden Home
Viewpoint Rd, Ko Phi Phi
There's no pool, there aren't any views, and there are only seven rooms, but in every other way this place is the cream of the crop in terms of bungalows in the viewpoint area. The rooms are artistically designed and well-furnished with great attention to detail, and each one is unique. They are... more

Garden Inn
161 Moo 7, Ko Phi Phi
Located near the end of the viewpoint road at the base of the hill, this place is a vast improvement over what you'll find on your way up the road. Quite decent bungalows in a sort of a garden spot. They have hard wood floors and stay cool during the day. All have safes and private baths. Some of... more

J. J. Bungalow
The Ao Lo Dalam/Ton Sai Road, Ko Phi Phi
There are two outfits named J.J. Bungalows -- the other offers bamboo bungalows and is next to J.J. Guesthouse in Ton Sai village, run by the same owner. The bungalows are resort-style affairs of concrete construction set on a very steep hillside with views of the valley and the viewpoint hill on... more
