There are two outfits named JJ Bungalows -- the other offers bamboo bungalows and is next to JJ Guesthouse in Ton Sai village, run by the same owner. The bungalows are concrete resort-style affairs set on a very steep hillside with views of the valley and the viewpoint hill on the other side. Interiors are spacious and clean, though the mismatched furnishings could be improved. Rooms all have tall sliding glass doors that give on to pleasant balconies, and come with private bath with hot water shower, air-con, fridge, and TV with international cable. It's a better room than you'll get on Ton Sai Beach for the same price, but then if you hunt around there are better locations to be had, particularly if you like a view of the ocean. A small community village is expanding on the hillside here, which may add a little noise to the equation.

* Travelfish researchers visit and review properties on an anonymous basis. By that we mean they show up, in person, and pretend to be either be a potential guest, or somebody looking for a room for a friend or relative. Where possible the researcher will inspect at least a couple of rooms. The rates you see above are what either the desk staff told us they were, or what were in the brochure when they just told us to quit bugging them and look in the brochure. Very comfortable - 22nd November, 2006
We found J.J Bungalow a very comfortable and relaxing place to stay. It has very large rooms, large bed, air-con, good cable TV with English channels, fridge and proper hot water shower. It is in a quiet location, but still within easy walking distance of the main town (not up a hill like many are). A bit expensive for Thailand, but probably not for Phi Phi.
