Description
There are two outfits named J.J. Bungalows -- the other offers bamboo bungalows and is next to J.J. Guesthouse in Ton Sai village, run by the same owner. The bungalows are resort-style affairs of concrete construction set on a very steep hillside with views of the valley and the viewpoint hill on the other side. The interiors are spacious and clean, though the mismatched furnishings could be improved. The rooms all have tall sliding glass doors that give on to pleasant balconies, and they come with private bath with hot water shower, air-con, fridge, and TV with good cable (HBO, ESPN, BBC etc). It's a better room than you'll get on Ton Sai Beach for the same price, but then if you hunt around there are better locations to be had, particularly if you like a view of the ocean. There's also a small community village growing on the hillside here which may add a little noise to the equation.

Total rooms: 14

Very comfortable -

We found J.J Bungalow a very comfortable and relaxing place to stay. It has very large rooms, large bed, air-con, good cable TV with English channels, fridge and proper hot water shower. It is in a quiet location, but still within easy walking distance of the main town (not up a hill like many are). A bit expensive for Thailand, but probably not for Phi Phi.

Have you stayed at J. J. Bungalow? What did you think?

Tropical Garden Bungalows
Up the hill at the end of the viewpoint road, Ko Phi Phi
The bungalows here get the aesthetics just right. They're rustic without being too shabby, made of teak wood, spacious and full of that 'bungalow in the jungle' atmosphere. The cheaper rooms have mattresses on the floor without bed-frames, with very good mosquito netting provided, and bathrooms of... more

Chunut House
The Ao Lo Dalam/Ton Sai Road, Ko Phi Phi
This collection of wooden bungalows located among stone-work steps on the hillside is just the kind of thing Ton Sai village needs but never seems to provide. The bungalows have beautiful interiors with lots of creative touches, green things growing from sconces on the walls, and raised platforms... more

Garden Home
Viewpoint Rd, Ko Phi Phi
There's no pool, there aren't any views, and there are only seven rooms, but in every other way this place is the cream of the crop in terms of bungalows in the viewpoint area. The rooms are artistically designed and well-furnished with great attention to detail, and each one is unique. They are... more

Garden Inn
161 Moo 7, Ko Phi Phi
Located near the end of the viewpoint road at the base of the hill, this place is a vast improvement over what you'll find on your way up the road. Quite decent bungalows in a sort of a garden spot. They have hard wood floors and stay cool during the day. All have safes and private baths. Some of... more
