Fairly decent for the price
The Ao Lo Dalam/Ton Sai Road, Ko Phi Phi
Krabi Province
Tel: (075) 601 044

Description
This forlorn collection of bungalows sits around a nondescript yard that once had a lot more coconut palms growing in it before the tsunami. The rooms are a bit crummy and minimally furnished, but fairly decent for the price, and all have private baths that are not at all smelly. The bungalows are quite well-spaced and they are just a short walk from Ton Sai beach. A lot of people show up here and try to bargain down the price because it looks like they need business, but don't waste your time -- they won't budge from the starting price.

Total rooms: 25

Bungalow fan private b'room
300 THB (low season) 700 THB (high season)

Up Hill Bungalows
Up the hill at the end of the viewpoint road, Ko Phi Phi
On the same hill with Tropical Garden Bungalows, the rooms here have less of a 'jungle' feeling, with white tiled floors and more modern construction, but they are a lot cooler during the day and quite tastefully-done. Some of the maps circulating around the island still indicate 'Jungle Hill'... more

P.P. Valentine Bungalows
The Ao Lo Dalam/Ton Sai road, Ko Phi Phi
P.P. Valentine is located in a fertile valley that was once perfect for cultivating rice and has now been given over to harvesting a bumper crop of tourist dollars. The 'courtyard' grounds are completely untended, covered with a medley of overgrown and long-dead tall grass. The rooms around the... more

Gypsy Village 2
The Ao Lo Dalam/Ton Sai Road, Ko Phi Phi
This is a line of concrete bungalows right along the roadside. The rooms are small, with minimal furnishings, but very bright and clean -- a slightly better deal than P.P Dream as you have more privacy. It's run by the same owners as Gipsy Village but this time they got the spelling right, and the... more

New Wave Bungalows
Soi Viewpoint, Ko Phi Phi
The best of the worst on Soi Viewpoint -- the rooms aren't great, but they are located along a funky stone-work garden path that climbs up an alley on the hill. Popular with local Thais and some long termers. There's also one room which fronts directly onto the street; great if you're a social... more

The Scenery Guest House
On the steps to the viewpoint, Ko Phi Phi
The Scenery Guest House is the next place up the hill from Lux, and it's a definite step up. It has clean, bright spacious rooms with tile floors and a bit of a better view, although most views are partially obscured by trees. All the rooms have fan and private bath but no hot water. Fine if you're... more

Lux Guest House
On the path to the viewpoint, Ko Phi Phi
This place is on the hill, a short walk up the steps towards the viewpoint. The decorative motif is plastic linoleum floors and mismatched panel walls. Even though it's on the hill only the upper floor gets much of a view. Rooms, which are a complete rip-off, are at least... more

White House
125/100 Moo 7, Viewpoint Rd, Ko Phi Phi
The guy who runs this place figured out we were reviewing it half-way through showing the rooms and kicked us out. Not sure why. He just seemed kinda jumpy. But we got a peek at the rooms: it's no worse than any of the other crappy places on the street. Rooms come with air-con, fridge and a TV.... more

P.P. Dream
Soi Viewpoint, Ko Phi Phi
As you walk along the soi towards the viewpoint, P.P.Dream is the large long-house building just past the water treatment park. It's a blend of rustic bamboo thatched-wall rooms, and a handful of air-con numbers made from cement. The bamboo rooms offer budget fare for the backpacker crowd, with... more
