K.R. Mansion Hotel
Pleasant roof terrace

What we say:
K.R. Mansion Hotel is a mid-sized hotel which doesn't look like much from the outside, but is actually a very good value deal. There are a range of spacious, polished clean rooms with dark wood furnishings (and worn-out tile floors) catering to most budgets. Despite the rough edges, all the rooms have a great, cheerful, airy atmosphere. They have two family rooms that are an amazing deal for groups. There's also a pleasant roof terrace which is a great spot to seek refuge in the late afternoon and on into the evening. We found the staff friendly and professional -- the restaurant in the lobby serves a good variety of German, Italian and Thai food -- check about the Banana Flambe, please, and tell us what you think!

OKish
I paid 300 for a double. It was newly decorated in pastel colours. Inside the room was a clothes horse, little bedside table but that's it. The main issues with it were the very musty smell, and opposite there's a music show that goes on until 11.30 at night and it's very noisy until then. There's free internet in the lobby. It's not bad, but I ended up getting a better deal elsewhere.

Great Rooftop bar
I did not stay at the hotel but I did visit the rooftop bar. The view is amazing from there you can see the whole of Krabi town and definitely worth the walk to the top. I was greeted by friendly staff and was made to feel very welcome - very important as a lone traveller! The cocktails are amazing and the local expats are on hand to give honest travel advise. Wonderful.

best views of Krabi
Stayed at KR for a night before heading off to Railay, cheap rooms and despite the rain thought I'd check out the roof top bar, probably the best views of Krabi you'll see if you don't want to walk up to the Tiger Cave Temple. Really good cocktails too.

Only 1 night
Stayed here 1 night, we didn't like the menu, fried rice and pad thai tasted boring and we saw a rat in the kitchen. Also bit expensive. Wifi and internet was fast downstairs. Personal didn't like to smile :( They do ask you ''where you go today/tommorow'', but it felt more like they tried to sell us a tour. Payed 350 baht for a small double room, small bed, private facilities with fan. Bathroom was clean, but cold and worthless shower. No Wifi in the room. The rooftop bar did look nice, but again expensive and personal did not smile, he frowned when we came in... Wouldn't recommend.

Great bar on the roof, rooms are good enough
You get what you pay for with the rooms here, the air con option is good value at 500 baht. Location is excellent and staff are friendly and can help out with getting onto the islands and exploring Krabi, check out the tiger temple, well worth the climb! The rooftop bar has amazing views, yum cocktails and a breeze! The food is great too. The email address is now chaina_ans66@hotmail.com

Warning - Filthy!!
This place is absolutely filthy! Stained walls, stained sheets, dirty bathroom. Three inches of dust on the ceiling fan. The sheets were worn so much they were transparent! I paid 300 baht and discovered other places nearby that were clean for only 120 baht. No rooftop terrace at all as it was closed for renovation. Spend your money elsewhere! This place is disgusting!
