Loved to stay there and even came back for a night!
Friendly people and helpful, nice staff. Restaurant was good as well. The rooms are decent and quiet and I found it to be reasonably priced.
Definitely a recommendation!

a good place to stay -
By dfact ( total comments: 3  More information please ) Stayed here 8/2007
I came from Koh Samui to Krabi, and on the way the bus stoped at a gas station were there is an office of P.P. Family travel agency (they operate in Krabi area) and they call for me to P. GH and book an A/C room for 600 bhat. From Krabi bus station a driver picked me up to the GH.
It's a very nice GH indeed, clean room, hot shower, nice staff and small restaurant with good thai and european food. it's not far from the local mall ''Vogue'' where you can find KFC and the Pizza Company with some good bargains of clothes, and also not far from the river where you can take a nice walk along side it.
in the GH you can book some trip to the islands like Phi Phi and kayak or ATV trips, but you should bargain about the price or try to find someone else how gives a cheaper price - eventually all travel agencies sell the same trips here.
and 1 last advice: if you not booking in advance you should bargain for the price of the room too - i'm sure 600 bhat for A/C is overpriced!
enjoy :-)

Great Guesthouse -

This place is by far one of the best guesthouses i've stayed since being in Thailand. The rooms are clean, the people are friendly, the location is good. The staff were very helpful in booking tours and transport without being pushy or charging extreme prices. This is a great little place to stay :)

We are sorry -
By Ta ( total comments: 1  More information please ) Stayed here 4/2007
I am the owner of P. Guest House and was very upset to hear that Bell and his wife had a bad experience. We did have some problems with some of the room as happens in all hotels at some point. We have now distroyed five beds and closed the Guest House for a week while we fumigated just to make sure there were no insects left. My family and i sleep here too and it is important to us that our guests are happy and comfortable in our small family run Guest House. The night porter at the time was only here for two weeks and did not speak much English while our usual man who works at night was visiting family. Here at P. Guest House we hope that everyone who visits us has a pleasent and enjoyable stay while on their holiday. I am sorry again for the couple who had a bad time. We take pride in the fact we keep our rooms clean with contstant supply of hot water, TV and also good food for our guests. Ta

The hot showers are great not just a box on the wall this water comes from a tank!!! The Food was great with the staff in the restaurant very funny and happy.... I have to say I have read the comments from other people \i dont know how much they travel but the oh so very nice Mr Pet was nothing but sleezy and just after money money and more money, all the happiness was just fake. I found him to be leary as a female on my I own its not what I wanted, Its a shame because everything else was so good but the Pet fella needs to go.

I've been here for a couple of nights already, the rooms are clean, hot showers! tv and for cheap prices. the restaurant has good food forvthose mornings where you have to get up before 11am, the owners helped us out with tours which were cheaper than the surrounding companies, id recommend staying here, nick, 19, England.

DO NOT STAY HERE -
By bell ( total comments: 5  More information please ) Stayed here 3/2007
booked a/c room 600bt. After a long day travelling had an early night, was woken up by insect bites at about 23.30. Found the bed and room infested with an insect which looked like a cross between a beetle and a tick. They had been biting me and my wifeand were full of blood!! Complained to the night porter who offered another room, when I checked under the pillow the insects were there too. Showed the night porter who just shrugged and walked out.
Had to change guesthouses at midnight, was lucky and found Chaifa guesthouse down the road for 680bt a/c and b/fast, better room and no sleeping partners.
Stay here if you want the full travelling experince only

A very great place -

I was very happy to stay here for six days. The hot water is great. Everybody was very friendly. The man in reception was very good. The first time he wanted me to buy a tour with him but I don't want to -- I went to Ao Nang and bought a sea kayak trip there. They arranged to meet me at 08.00am but when they didn't show up the man helped me to call them three times for free. Thank you very much to him. I loved this place see you again next year P Guesthouse.

A nice change -
By intreptrav ( total comments: 1  More information please ) Stayed here 1/2007
Wow hot showers made such a nice change -- everywhere else I have stayed in Thailand had cold showers. The staff were very friendly when I first arrived but then the staff member with glasses spoke very bluntly and not at all nicely to me when he thought I was not going to book a trip with him. This was such a shame as I had every intention of booking with them but on the principle I booked elsewhere that made the guy even less helpful and just rude. The rest of the staff were great they went above and beyond to make sure that I was happy and in the restaurant I ate some of the best food I've had in Thailand good prices too. I would recommend the place to anyone just a shame about the one member of staff.

P Guesthouse is a great place to spend a week or two, be careful you might end up there your whole stay. Very friendly, nice cheap rooms, hot water and quiet location, made this guest house like a home away from home for me... also very helpful front desk. A ten for me.

Great Spot -
By jcmcilwaine ( total comments: 11  More information please ) Stayed here 12/2006
Stayed here for a couple of nights. Owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was great. The location was very quiet compared to the rest of town, and just a short (5 minute) walk from the hub of town, from the songthaews and longtails to Railay and beyond. Great restaurants nearby. Above all, it was quiet and serene both at night and in the morning, something that is not always found in buzzing Thailand. Highly recommended.

Great time -

The staff were so friendly and helpful. Rooms very clean and hot water. They made me feel like I was with family at Christmas

Chan-Cha-Lay
55 Uttarakit Rd, Krabi
If those scuzzy budget rooms you've been frequenting are getting you down, the Cha-Cha-Lay offers the perfect antidote in the budget range. You can see the difference the moment you lay eyes on it -- decorated in refreshing blue and white throughout. The rooms vary in quality a bit -- the cheapest... more

K.R. Mansion Hotel
52/1 Chao Fa Rd, Krabi
K.R. Mansion Hotel is a mid-sized hotel which doesn't look like much from the outside, but is actually a very good value deal. There are a range of spacious, polished clean rooms with dark wood furnishings (and worn-out tile floors) catering to most budgets. Despite the rough edges, all the rooms... more

Thara Guesthouse
79/3 Kongkha Rd, Krabi town
Thara Guesthouse is a bit of a walk from the rest of Krabi town, but it's well worth making the effort to seek out. It's the last place stay on Kongkha Rd as you head away from town along the river and is probably the friendliest spot in Krabi, partly because it attracts mostly Thais and western... more

Ban To Guest House
22/6 Chao Fa Rd, Krabi
This place is just down the alley from the Chao Fah Guest House, but a spring running down the alley makes it mossy and hard to navigate, so it's better to arrive by going around the block. The guesthouse is brand new, bright orange, and the rooms are clean and colourful with good furnishings and... more

Green Tea Guesthouse
4 Issara Rd, Krabi
Located almost opposite the Thai Hotel, Green Tea is just behind a travel agency and internet cafe and offers a wide selection of rooms. The cheapest are shared bathrooms in the wooden house upstairs above the internet cafe. The best value rooms are located behind, and come either fan-cooled or... more

Chao Fah Valley Bungalows
50 Chao Fa Rd, Krabi
The bungalows here are down in a small valley off the road. Unlike the hotel-style places next door, it offers a bit of nature with its accommodation -- we're told the occasional monkey can still be spotted swinging from the trees nearby. The bungalows are a bit charmingly aged on the outside, but... more

K. Guest House
15-25 Chao Fa Rd, Krabi town
This is a pleasant spot with a nice restaurant on the ground floor offering a decent variety of fan-rooms. The decor is well done in natural woods and the best rooms have a sort of a teak house feeling, even if they are a bit dim and cramped. The family room upstairs is the best of the lot -- a... more

Bai Fern Mansion
24/2 Chao Fa Rd, Krabi
Bai Fern Mansion has colourful, clean, well-furnished rooms, but the quality is very variable. Some are quite airy with small verandas while others are cave-like with near-pretend windows. The place really has no character at all, though they do a steady trade mainly courtesy of their aggressive... more

Cha Guest House
45 Uttarakit Rd, Krabi
The very long-running Cha has a bunch of rooms surrounding a small garden. The rooms are passable but haven't changed much over the years and some of the newer places in town are in far better condition. The cheapest rooms are incredibly cramped, with hardly space for a bed and table. The air-con... more

Area 51 Guest House
1/13-14 Soi Ruamjit, Krabi
This place looks like it belongs at one of the big beaches in Phuket -- a bar restaurant, a huge pool table, and sort of a night-time atmosphere even in the day. Its got a lot of character -- the woman who runs the place is a local DJ on the radio, and since the place is named Area 51 (just for... more

Chao Fah Guest House
22 Chao Fah Rd, Krabi
Set in a quiet, shady little alley off Chao Fa Rd, this guesthouse is pretty unique for Krabi Town and offers some really cheap, surprisingly well-furnished rooms with small balconies -- they all have private bathrooms and hot water. The lobby/reception area isn't up to much in terms of atmosphere,... more

Hollywood Guesthouse
26 Issara Rd, Krabi
This place has a very well-decorated bar/restaurant in the lobby that looks great for chilling out in the evenings. The staff are friendly, the location is quiet and all the rooms have windows overlooking the street. None of the rooms have private bathrooms, but otherwise it's a pretty good... more

Riverview Guest House
74 Kongkha Rd, Krabi
We certainly weren't expecting much when we saw the sign out in front of Jaso Holiday Tour, next to the Star Guest House, advertising rooms to rent. We were lead through the unimpressive, garage-style store front to the back and there, to out shock, we found wooden bungalows in an attractive little... more

P.A.N. Guesthouse
Uttarakit Road (near the post office), Krabi
This is a unique place in the Chao Fa pier area -- a close-to-nature bungalow outfit, with some admittedly run-down but nevertheless charming accommodation overlooking a watershed along the Krabi River. The staff are easy-going, the setting is tranquil, and there's a good restaurant on site. A... more

Generation Guest House
53/1 Uttarakit Rd, Krabi
This place was still renovating when we visited and won't open officially until October 2006. We got a peek at the rooms, though -- the fan doubles have mattresses on the floors, and most of them seem to have windows -- they put a good bit of effort into decorating them, to pleasant effect. There's... more
