Description
The Vieng Thong is a huge, aging hotel oriented towards Thai tourists, with a restaurant and karaoke bar in the lobby. Even though it's on Uttarakit Rd across from the river, only four of the rooms have river views -- they don't cost any more than the others so ask if they're free. The fan rooms are kind of crappy, but the air-con rooms are well-furnished and well-maintained, with TVs, fridges and an interesting interior design (purple walls? Why not.)

This large, mid-range hotel is right across the street form Krabi Town's night market, offering a wide range of rooms. There isn't a good view in the lot, and the carpeting throughout the hotel could use some freshening up, but otherwise the rooms are fairly comfy. The cheaper rooms are well... more
The Lipstic Guesthouse
20-22 Maharat Soi 2, Krabi
The Lipstic used to have a karaoke place on the ground floor, but now they are planning to convert it into a lobby/restaurant, which could make it a much more appealing spot to hang out for budget travellers. For now the reception desk is a tiny travel agency in the alley. The rooms upstairs... more
