Thai Li Hotel
A solid choice

What we say:
The Thai Li Hotel is doing it right and it is by far one of the best places to stay in Nakhon Si Thammarat. The friendly owners are very personable and they go out of their way to help out their guests. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are huge. The bathrooms are nothing to write home about, but overall this is a solid choice.

Cheapest hotel I have ever stayed in Thailand
At 140 Baht (in 2009!), the insanely low price is hard to beat. Having said that, the room is slightly on the decrepit side. As with all Thai hotels built decades ago, the room is spacious, but the owners do not appear to have invested anymore money in its upkeep since its grand opening. At least the bed sheet was clean, but there may be reasons to complain about the shower. Its location is central, just a stone's throw from a cluster of shops selling local food like khanom jeen. At night, a stall that sells Chinese chicken rice and Briyani sets up stall in front of the hotel. The locals seem to be drawn to it - the food is quite good. If you come with a family or want better ambience, try the Nakorn Garden Inn, which is close by (near Carrefour) and surrounded by a lovely garden. The standard room at 445 Baht was very good, with all standard amenities found in a Western-style hotel.
