Thailiang Hotel
A good budget option

What we say:
For those on a budget, this competes with the Valentine Hotel for the best value budget choice in town. The rooms are clean and come with tv (Thai and Malay tv only), firm beds and the bathrooms are cold-water only with semi-functioning plumbing. Try for a room on one of the higher floors as it is on a busy street corner. The cafe on the ground floor is good and popular.

Simple, but cheap.
I didn't make it to the Malaysian border as my bus was delayed in Hat Yai. Feeling a little apprehensive (after reading in guide book this was a brothel town)it was late and I didn't want to search for a place to stay. Luckily the bus driver dropped me off at this hotel and I was pleasantly surprised. It's a typical Chinese type hotel. But the rooms were large, had air con, hot water, comfortable ben and a TV. The receptionist was fairly abrupt, but she gave us a wake up call (we needed to get to that border!)
