What we say: 
Located a few kilometres out of town, the CS Pattani is absolutely outstandling value for mid-range travellers. The rooms are very well-sized with cable-tv, air-con, hot water bathrooms and rates include breakfast. The hotel has excellent facilities including a pool and kitted out gym. Very preofessional and friendly staff. The distance out of town is the main disadvantage, but that aside, the CS Pattani represents excellent value.

A few days at the CS
Good hotel, the best in the region. Cheap, I was offered a room for 800b, then upgraded to a suite for 900. Apart from government officials and gov conferences there are few guests, so they are willing to bargain. Ask for one night free, that sought of thing. I suspect that you could get a standard room for 600b if you were staying a few days. The rooms are large, the decor classy traditional, breakfast included (little veg, lots of sugar), staff friendly, but little English. The only drawback is that the wifi is 100b per hour, every hour. The Big C is 200m down the road, a bike ride into the city centre is 5min and 20b (they will ask for 40b). There are a few pubs and cafes just outside the hotel. I can't see any reason not to stay here, as opposed to spending just a little less to live 'rough'.
