Nang Thong Bay Resort

Central location, solid value

What we say: 4 stars

Nang Thong Bay Resort is located right in the middle of Nang Thong beach and offers some stylish and well equipped beach front villas that resemble many others we saw in the area that go for double the price. Thoughtfully designed with a traditional Thai gold and black colour scheme, soft lanterns, and well placed paintings of lotuses, all rooms are fresh and modern with spotless tile floors, flatscreen TVs, air-con and classy wood furnishings. If you're a germ freak, you'll appreciate the extra efforts towards cleanliness here — the toilet has a sign that says Cleaned and Disinfected on it when you first check in to your room. There's a good size pool near the beach, a restaurant, a couple bars, an Internet café for 50B per hour (WiFi is free), a spa, and a little moat with colourful fish that winds around the grounds. Although the villas near the beach are good value, the attached rooms across the street and away from the beach, while equally comfortable, lack the stellar location of the villas and are pricey when compared to the villas. Still, for luxury facilities at reasonable prices, Nang Thong is recommended.
