Good value rooms but nothing extra
Located along the main road on the way out of Nang Thong to the north, Srichada doesn't look like much from the outside.
Inside however, the rooms are a very pleasant surprise, and they offer perhaps the most bang for your buck if considering only the rooms themselves. All rooms are set in a three storey building with big back porches facing the mountainous jungle nearby — a good spot for a late evening beer. Inside you'll find tons of space, air-con, modern hot water bathrooms, fridges, flatscreen TVs, clean and comfortable beds, and a desk and bureau. On the down side, it's a solid ten minute walk to the beach, there's no WiFi, and the staff are erratic. While checking out the motel we watched as the owner rather aggressively told a couple guests that they needed to pay, which they had apparently already done earlier in the day, and then told them they had to abruptly move to a first floor room because they had somehow booked the room they were already staying in. When the new room was still a mess from previous guests, the owner began screaming at her staff — seemed like a fairly dysfunctional group, but to be fair, everyone has an off day. Chances are if you choose Srichada you'll hardly see the staff and will enjoy a cheap and very comfy room. Srichada is also a good long-term option.
