Set amidst a dazzling white sand beach near the point of Cape Pakarang, White Sand offers plain but comfortable concrete and wood bungalows to go with a great beachside restaurant and one of the best beach bum atmospheres in the area. All bungalows come with air-con and large front porches with furniture, and are simply furnished with basic hot water bathrooms, a couple of cheap chairs and some very comfortable beds with mosquito nets. Larger rooms have couches and more space. There's no TVs, WiFi is only available in the restaurant area, and the bungalows don't face the sea, but this is more of a place to sleep in your room and spend the rest of your time in a hammock on the beach or in the water. It's not an upscale resort and there are no swimming pools or fitness centres, but they nail the lazy beach vibes and it actually feels like you're on a small island — think Bob Marley songs, plenty of palm trees, an open air bamboo cocktail bar, a few beach dogs lounging around, and do it all staff serving drinks to guests while rocking in raggity tank tops and swim trunks. It's an isolated spot so most who stay here don't stray too far, and although the rooms are perhaps slightly overpriced, they make up for it with the atmosphere.
