The cottages at Phra Thong Bay are a marked step up from Mr. Chuoi's and slightly more comfortable than Seaview's, and given that they do have an actual sea view and are the only places to stay on perhaps the island's best beach, they might be your best bet if you can part with the extra baht. If approaching from the beach the bungalows are just out of sight, set back in a shady area behind Horizon Bar and Restaurant, which is situated right at the beach. The sign only says Horizon Bar, but apparently the bungalows go by a different name. There are only four bamboo and wood bungalows, but they feature large front porches, numerous windows, comfortable beds with mosquito nets, fans, a few shelves, and simple open air cold water bathrooms. Horizon Bar and restaurant is the best beach bum style bar on Ko Phra Thong, and it's a popular hang out spot for the staffs of Golden Buddha and Blue Guru, a testament to its quality. They gave a definitive answer on low season: closed from May to October.
