Phang Nga Guest House
Central with many rooms to choose from

What we say:
Just across from Baan Phangnga, centrally located Phang-nga Guesthouse offers a wide range of rooms in a casual yet professional setting. All fan rooms come only with cold water, and although the cheapest of these are very small and have a window that only faces a brick wall, the mid ranged fan rooms are larger and offer better value. The guesthouse is broken into different segments, with the rooms towards the back being quietest. All air-con rooms have hot water baths and while the standard air-con rooms aren't huge they are pleasant with light purple walls, small desks, comfortable beds and simple yet tasteful décor. All rooms have TVs, WiFi is free, and the biggest rooms are probably Phang Nga's best choice for groups of five or more.

phang nga guesthouse
Guesthouse using tried and tested ploy of making the outside look nice thus duping the unwary into a booking. Should have checked out the rooms first, but seemed to be a dearth of hotels and hot and dusty from ride up from phuket. Horrible depressing paintwork, shabby cabinet and sink with loose tap in front of bricked up window. Couldn't wait to leave first light. Agree with the cleanliness aspect though. Got charged 600 low season for double bedded. Really, a lick of white paint and the odd pic would make a stay more pleasant. And don't get me started on the 'old mattress on the floor being the only thing in the room of the godawful Ko Panyi Guesthouse. Got the boat guy to get me back to shore soon as. No booze either, Muslim. Smoke like chimneys though lol

Phang Nga Guest House
This is well located in walking distance to bus stop and night market. Clean, cell-like rooms with no windows but nice, small bathrooms and TV. Downside is there is only a small sitting area by the reception.
