Friend House Resort
How about some karaoke before bed?

What we say:
A short ways past Ban Ton Ruk if heading away from the bus station, we found Friend House to be not so friendly, but it does offer decent budget accommodation that's suitable for an overnight and — wait for it — a big karaoke bar on site! Standards are set in a single floor motel style building that faces a parking lot. They're a little worn and musty, and could be cleaner, but they do have air-con, TV, fridge, hot water showers and plenty of space. Beds are filled with springs and not very comfortable, and although they claimed free WiFi we didn't catch any signal at all. The newer rooms in a two storey motel style building are a big step up. They offer the same amenities but are far cleaner and more modern. The karaoke bar on site is popular amongst the locals and could make a memorable night for travellers, but the noise from it doesn't resonate into the rooms. While nothing too special, Friend House is an adequate spot for a night's sleep. Very little English is spoken and staff seemed annoyed that we were making them get off the couch.
