Extra Hotel
Extra what?

What we say:
Set behind a gas station in the centre of town — but a solid 2-3 km from the bus station — Extra Hotel's name is a little misleading considering they supply only the basics. Still, for a cheap, old, institutional style Thai hotel, it could be a lot worse. Fan rooms are the cheapest option in town but you get what you pay for: A small room with a hard bed, furniture that's seen better days, and a small, grungy cold water bathroom. On the up side, they do have a balcony and with a ceiling fan and large windows they stay relatively bright but cool at the same time. Air-con rooms are larger, have fridges and hot water showers, and generally smell a lot better. There's no WiFi here, but there is a good local restaurant across the street, and although it's pretty far from the bus station it would be easy to flag down a southbound bus across the street from the hotel if going in that direction, or a northbound one from directly in front of the hotel.
