Description
Description: Actually two guesthouses on the same street, both painted bright orange. The older guest house, Ban Pee Buasod, is right on the beach road, has a decent open-air lobby, and the staff are quite friendly, though little English is spoken. This is where the cheaper fan rooms, as well as the more expensive seaview rooms can be found. The air-con rooms are clean but a little on the small side, and come with TV and fridge--you'll pay an extra 100 THB for hot water. Some rooms have windows overlooking the Soi but when it's busy you may be left with the windowless rooms downstairs. The guesthouse has no restaurant or atmosphere -- just good cheap rooms. Just up the Soi, the Buasod Cha-am House rooms in a new, concrete, Chinese-style hotel. On the plus side, both are well-located in the centre of things.

Total rooms: 30

Dbl A/C private b'room
300 THB (low season) 300 THB (high season)
Add 100B for hot water, 200B for seaview
Dbl fan share b'room
200 THB (low season) 200 THB (high season)

Anantachai Guesthouse
235/8-9 Beach Rd, Cha-am
It's difficult to miss the bright green Anantachai, a convenient and friendly place to stay located on the beach road, just south of the bus stop Soi. You'll know it by the ground-floor Thai restaurant which is a popular hang out for falangs and Thais alike. All rooms have air-con and range in... more

Nirundorn 3 Resort
Beach Rd, Cha-am
Description: Another Nirundorn on the beach road offers a combination of hotel-style rooms and bungalows. The hotel-type rooms equipped with fridge, hot water showers and TV are located to the rear tower over the bungalows in the front, some with balconies and good views of the beach. A restaurant... more

Cha-am Sea Beach
234/14-18 Ruamchit Rd, Cha-am
Just back from the corner of the beach road and the bus station soi, Cha-am Sea Beach has is a popular choice and the family of ethnic Indian Thais that run the place are friendly, though they don't speak much English. The sign out front only says 'Guest House' in English. It features clean,... more

Sam Resort
246/9 Ruamchit Rd, Cha-am
The low-to-mid-range Sam has a manager who speaks excellent English and is very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are fine though a little musty, especially the ones in the middle of the hotel with no ventilation. Rooms overlooking the beach (if you can see it behind the trees) are the most pricey.... more

White Hotel
263/32 Ruamchit Rd, Cha-am
The main building, further from the road, has little to offer in terms of atmosphere or quality. Rooms are decent, and fan rooms start at 200THB. TVs are tiny, offering only basic cable. The building closer to the street is no more than a flop house--rooms crowded with two-double beds and not an... more

Reuan Pechorn Guest House
234/7 Ruamchit Rd, Cha-am
This small, friendly guesthouse (no English sign) is an out-of-culture experience which may not be for everyone, but if you're looking for a cheap fan room, this is a leading contender. It's oriented towards the lowest-income, show-and-blow, Thai tourists that visit Cha-am. The first floor is a... more
