Nirundorn Resort

A fair choice

Nirundorn offers decent hotel-like accommodation, with so many rooms that you shouldn't miss out on even the busiest days. The hotel rooms are unremarkable, with small, cramped balconies where available, and only the fan rooms are a real deal -- better, cheaper air-con rooms are available elsewhere. However, if you're looking to veg out and boycott the beach for a day, the upside here is a better selection of cable TV channels. There are 21 bungalows flanking a pleasant garden way out back -- decorated in a strikingly clean and modern style, with sunny, sliding-door exteriors. On the downside the rooms suffer from poor air circulation. There's a restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel offering western breakfasts. Rates increase by up to 50% on weekends.

Nirundorn Resort reviews

Bad service - 27th July, 2009
After passing by many times and picking up a brochure, I really wanted to stay here. However the welcome was less than we had hoped. The manager/receptionist looked down at my wife and actually said as much. It appears that if you are a Westerner with a Thai wife, then this manager/receptionist seems to assume, unfairly, that she must be a prostitute you've picked up for the night. Needless to say, we didn't check in. We checked in to the sister hotel, Nirandon 3, 500m away, which had good customer service.
