Ao Chalong Inn
Hotel-style fare for divers

What we say:
The Ao Chalong Inn is a hotel-style place with what were once pleasant, light and airy rooms, but they're starting to look a bit shabby. All have air-con, TV and balconies, the best of which front the street, but the ones at the back face an adjoining building. The lobby has a bit of character and feels quite homey with free coffee and tea making facilities available. The restaurant is only open in the high season and serves 150B breakfasts. Motorbike rental is available for 200B per day. Hotel is situated on the pier road about half way between the main road and the water, on the right.

Great
I wrote a review, what happened to it? BEE, boss person, and company run a tight ship. Most obliging in every way. Spot on place to stay, lotsa good cafes and bars all close by, 5 mins walk to the pier, 3 mins the other way to Chalong Circle where you will find most shops you need. I have stayed most every year since '05, going back this year '09.

I have stayed here about 7 times since 2005. Bee, the manager is a very nice person, but has, since '08 put a stop to certain bar girls staying over, LOL, big deal. She is nice person, but forgets bookings, well twice for me. Very clean, lotsa hot water clean towels etc daily. A little dated in furnishings, well was same for 5 years. I have only stayed off season, will be there for Loy Krathon again, Nov 09. Good bar over the road. I prefer rear rooms which get the sun, front rooms cooler but street noise is invasive.
