Description
It blows our mind why cheap boarding houses in Thailand are called mansions -- they're typically anything but. Sharing an address with a fishing tour company, the Ao Chalong Mansion is in a grimy white building in the centre of Chalong town. Like the building, the rooms haven't received attention in years, but will do for a night. The rooms are spacious but stark, with a double bed and little else. Some have air-con, but you won't find any hot water or TVs here. Most of their business is monthly rentals to young Thais who have taken jobs in town, and they're sometimes full.
