Other than the prices, there isn't much to like about Darin Bungalows. Located at the end of Friendship Beach but a ways before Rawai, the location is inconvenient if you don't have your own motorbike. The grounds are crowded; the brown bungalows form two long lines directly opposite one another and offer zero privacy. The newish air-con bungalows have cute bamboo interiors and a tiny TV and mini-fridge. If you can stand the heat, they also have two cheaper fan-only bungalows at the end of the line. There's a small pool and tidy garden, but they do little to remedy the low-rent feel. The special Internet rates on their website are much higher than what our reviewer was quoted -- you'll get a better deal in person.
