Description
Over-shadowed by the large restaurant and bar, we may have over-looked the Blue Garden Resort if not for its oh-so-inviting aquamarine pool lined by wooden chaise loungers. The rooms didn't disappoint either -- modern with dark wood accents, they have sliding glass doors that open onto the pool. Very new and still spotlessly clean, the rooms are outfitted with one double or two twin beds, and all have a mini-bar, LCD TV, air-con, and WiFi access. If you don't find the pool as appealing as we did, the beach is only 100m away. The price quoted is the website rate and includes breakfast and afternoon tea, but during low season you won't struggle to get a healthy discount.

Situated on a much better stretch of sand next door to the Best Western, there are only eight bungalows here. They're spacious and tastefully decorated, and each one looks out onto the beautiful beach that's only a few steps away. Not that it's really necessary given the dreamy stretch of sand... more
Bangtao Beach Chalet

OK, we admit to not being huge fans of boutique hotels. Not to sound like Seinfeld here, but what exactly makes it 'boutique' -- it sounds like they'll be trying to sell you over-priced art your entire stay. But, with the Bangtao Beach Chalet consider us converted. There are only ten chalets here,... more
Bangtao Village Resort
72/26 Moo 3, Bang Tao
Just when you think you've left beach territory, you see the sign for this place. In a bit of an odd location past the cluster of beach-front commerce and down a soi, the sloping roofs of Bangtao Village Resort's bungalows look like Buddhist temples tucked away behind a fence. Though the design is... more
Baan Rosa
Bang Tao village
Located in the middle of Bang Tao village, Rosa has converted some typical Thai houses into apartment-style suites. Whether one or two bedroom, all are air-con and have king-sized beds, new bathrooms, and comfy sitting areas with satellite TV. The suites are in a real house, so guests have access... more
