Description
The Coral Resort doesn't try too hard to razzle dazzle -- it's surprisingly unassuming once you actually get there -- but that's part of what makes it a good choice. The garden grounds aren't lush and well-tended, there's no impressive statuary of any kind, but there's no need to pay extra for all that when you've already got a great beach in a unique location. The rooms are good, if nothing special -- it seems like they haven't been refurbished in quite a while. But the staff are friendly without being too eager and they manage to keep the crowds coming back year after year. For many, this is their favourite place to stay in Phuket. Nightly rates on accommodation exist but most people stay for a least a couple of days once they pay for the boat trip out to the island so they specialise in longer stays which are a much better deal. Many discounts and deals are available online so be sure to check the website and definitely book a room before you show up. If they're full, there's no recourse but to get back on the boat. Prices include breakfast, taxes and surcharges.
