Raya Father Resort
Experience Ko Raya at a reasonable price

What we say:
For those who can't quite afford The Racha (that is, just about everyone), the Raya Father Resort is an affordable way to experience Ko Raya. It's situated in a clearing near the centre of the island, so the beaches, bays, and pier are within easy walking distance. The bungalows are boxy wooden structures with tin roofs and cozy, if slightly cramped, interiors. An extra 200B gets you a larger bungalow that's better suited for two people. A pleasant surprise is that most bungalows have attached bathrooms and 24-hour electricity. Some new rooms have been recently built and are similar to the old ones but with air-con and very tall beds. A big restaurant sells reasonably-priced food, drinks, and Thai whiskey by the bottle, making it a popular hang-out for the island's young diver and backpacker populations. The only public internet service is here and all guests can use their free WiFi. Rates stay the same all year round, making them a better deal during the high season when prices everywhere go through the roof. In low season, if you stay two nights you get the third one free.

Best food.
We stayed at another bungalow complex because we didn't know about Raya Father. When we discovered it, we found the best budget priced food on the island. We soon ate every meal there. Although the bungalows are not on a beach they are convienently located to access several different beachs. Taht is where we will stay on our next trip.
