Rayaburi Resort
Natural and pristine

What we say:
Rayaburi Resort is part of a chain in Phuket, but you would never assume it. It sits on pristine Siam beach, across 75 acres of palm trees and gardens. The resort was only built in 2009 — it's surprising it took so long for someone to develop this stretch of sand. The low-key building in no way alters the beauty of this perfect beach. The resort features 28 spacious rooms with dark wood furniture and all the fixings you would expect at this price range. Each room type has a different bedroom and bathroom arrangement varying from outdoor jacuzzis to outdoor showers with an adjoined seating area. Most rooms are set far back from the water, which the staff admits has guests complaining. However, there really is no reason to complain — it’s not every day you get to walk through a field of coconut trees, flowers and peacocks to some of the whitest sands in Thailand. If you really don’t feel like walking, the beachfront rooms are stunning with high-vaulted ceilings and intricate designs — worth the price bump. A restaurant, sea sports centre and spa are some of the resort’s facilities available on the beach. Rates here are listed on the internet and include tax and breakfast.
