European-managed Kamala Dreams gets a consistent thumbs-up from its guests. This small hotel was badly hit by the tsunami but of course any signs of damage are long gone — they've even expanded. The spacious rooms are very clean and furnished with a king-sized bed, teak dining table, and a kitchenette with mini-fridge and microwave. All rooms have satellite TV, IDD phones, internet access, individual balcony, and a sea view. Prices have been raised considerably in recent years and are certainly overpriced in the high season, but it's hard to find a place in Phuket that isn’t at that time of year. The pool is on the small side, but there's a larger ocean just 50 metres away. The friendly staff are helpful with planning excursions outside of Kamala and there's an equally popular seafood restaurant on site.
