A friendly family-run spot, Chez Sabina is more of a homestay than a hotel. You can rent a room by the night, but most of their business is longer term. This is a popular choice with people who come to Phuket for a month or more — often every year — so a reservation is a smart idea. They have a variety of one-bedroom apartment-style rooms and a separate two-storey house with three bedrooms, living room, and kitchen. They aren’t the most modern of rooms but are fully furnished down to the smallest details like bottle openers and umbrellas, and come with free WiFi. The interiors have mismatched furniture and colour schemes but have character. A large spiral staircase connects the rooms in the tall house— so beware with children. If you're paying by the night, the rate includes breakfast. Be sure to call ahead as Chez Sabina sometimes closes during low season.

An Enjoyable stay!

We recently stayed in the ''penthouse'' fourth floor apartment and enjoyed the experience. At 1200 baht/night, the room was a bit more than I was usually paying, but worth it for a few nights. Included in the price was an air-conditioned bedroom, private bathroom, tv, kitchenette, glassed balcony, private rooftop terrace and daily breakfast. The Sabina is family run and has a friendly, intimate atmosphere. Our room came with everything you might need to enjoy your stay, even including the small touches such as a bottle opener and lighter. Just a 5 minute walk from Kamala beach, the Sabina is definitely worth a stay if your budget is a bit flexible and you are looking for a more intimate setting than a hotel. My only word of warning is that the signage is not good, causing some confusion for our taxi driver and I would recommend making sure you have the phone number with you...
