The homely apartments at Chez Sabina Guest House represent excellent value for the area. This is a very popular choice with people often staying long term -- every year -- so a reservation is a very good idea. They have a variety of rooms available, one single room and a two storey apartment with kitchen, dining area, one bedroom and living room. There are also two more smaller apartments with living area -- the beanbags are a nice touch. There is also a separate two storey house available for rent (either yearly or monthly) with three bedrooms, living area and kitchen. The monthly rate for the house is 12,000B. Chez Sabina Guest House is opposite Ice Bungalows, a five-minute walk from the beach.

We recently stayed in the ''penthouse'' fourth floor apartment and enjoyed the experience. At 1200 baht/night, the room was a bit more than I was usually paying, but worth it for a few nights. Included in the price was an air-conditioned bedroom, private bathroom, tv, kitchenette, glassed balcony, private rooftop terrace and daily breakfast. The Sabina is family run and has a friendly, intimate atmosphere. Our room came with everything you might need to enjoy your stay, even including the small touches such as a bottle opener and lighter. Just a 5 minute walk from Kamala beach, the Sabina is definitely worth a stay if your budget is a bit flexible and you are looking for a more intimate setting than a hotel. My only word of warning is that the signage is not good, causing some confusion for our taxi driver and I would recommend making sure you have the phone number with you...
