Description
Set in the middle of a coconut grove across from Phuket Fantasea, the Kamala Coco Hut has a haphazard collection of rooms and bungalows. The grounds are admittedly scraggly, but have some creative touches like the open-air salas, hammocks, and a cute bean-shaped pool. The standards and superiors are merely adequate double rooms in a longhouse near the pool, but the bungalows have nicer interiors and garden bathrooms. The big restaurant has a mellow vibe and plays movies on a big screen TV. The rooms seem over-priced for what you get, and the guesthouses closer to the beach are probably a better value. Prices include taxes and continental breakfast.

Kamala Dreams
74/1 Moo 3, Kamala Beach
European-managed Kamala Dreams gets a consistent thumbs-up from its guests. This small hotel was badly hit by the tsunami but any signs of damage are long gone -- they've even expanded. The spacious rooms are immaculately clean and well-furnished -- including a king-sized bed, teak dining table,... more

Print Kamala Resort
74/8 Moo 3, Kamala Beach
Across the road from the beach, Print Kamala is an attractive resort with a great new pool. The rooms are done in a traditional Thai style but, unlike many others, they haven't gone overboard. Rather, the rooms are quite elegant with rich wooden furniture, well-placed art, and fresh flowers. The... more

Kamala Beach Hotel and Resort
96/42-3 Moo 3, Kamala Beach
With 200 rooms, this was Kamala's first real resort and is still the largest hotel in town. It's set in a great spot at the centre of Kamala beach and there's a large pool and restaurant right on the sand. However, the rooms are bland and, while well-maintained and spotlessly clean, their style... more
