With all the huge, family-oriented resorts dominating Phuket's beaches, it was a welcome surprise to find this small luxury hotel designed with couples in mind. There are three room types — all of which are to die for. The tiniest of details have been perfected at the Layalina, like the silky linens on the sumptuous king-sized beds, the iPod stereo docks, and the basket of hand-made spa products. The bathrooms are open-concept with wooden shutters opening up to the main room because, after all, there are no secrets between couples, right? With the bath concierge service, taking a bath becomes an art form, and every room has a Jacuzzi tub with ample room for two. The Ocean Deluxe rooms on the ground floor open to a small pool overlooking Kamala Beach. The rooms on the upper floor, appropriately called Private Heavens, have spiral staircases ascending to a rooftop terrace with day beds — a dreamy spot to bake in the sun and enjoy your exclusive ocean view. Amazing!

I stayed here for 3 days with my girlfriend and it was perfect. Cannot begin to explain how happy we were with it. The huge room opens out to the beach and pool, the room itself has a great bath/spa that fits 2 people and opens out to the rest of the room (you can even watch tv/dvds from the bath!). Perfect for couples. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the included breakfast was beautiful. And the beach is really nice too. Do yourself a favour and stay here.

A most relaxing stay

What a fantastic place to stay. Located on a quiet beach with it's own pool with rooms that are designed for a most comfortable stay (you just have to look at the web site). Walter (the owner) and his staff were fantastic and always on hand to help with anything e.g. organising trips and local places of interests. This place was more than what I was expecting and will be the place to stay next time I am in Phuket. Thanks Walter for a great stay
