Kata Villa
Passable rooms, great location

What we say:
Just a stone's throw across from the beach, even though the title suggests it's in Kata, Kata Villas is indeed on Karon's southern end. The resort is ageing but was completely jammed at the time of research with young travellers who know you don't need to pay top dollar to stay this close to the sand. The rooms are basic but they do come with all the amenities you would want during your stay – hot and cold water, hair dryer, air-con, TV, minibar, safety box and coffee- and tea-making facilities. The beds are pretty firm but if you value convenience over sleep Kata Villa may just suit you. The on-site restaurant and swimming pool area have free WiFi for guests as well. What more do you need? The rates below are indeed true and even include beach towels.
