This is a massive, family-orientated resort that's frequented by tour groups. It has some completely over-the-top design touches like gigantic Angkorian bas-reliefs and water-spouting elephant statuary, but what the hell, you are on vacation in Thailand after all. It's in a good location, just off the beach road, but is still all about the pools -- there's a kiddy pool with slides and fountains and a main pool with a floating bar, a massive pool deck, and more Angkorian carvings. The rooms are bit boring compared to the resort grounds, but have all the trimmings -- mini bar, air-con, satellite TV, and a decent balcony. Some have much, much better views than others -- so ask for one of the good ones when you check in. The Bayan Restaurant out front is pricey and does good-value buffets, but be wary of compulsory holiday gala dinners for 3,000B. The following rates include breakfast but not taxes or service charges.

Where possible the researcher will inspect at least a couple of rooms. The Hamptons N.Z. - 13th August, 2006
Great value..We had one of the deluxe pool side rooms which opened directly on to approx. 100-mtr lap pool that only those with rooms opening onto it used. Great breakfast selection but eat after 9am when the overnight tour buses have left. This Resort is in a great location with local bars and lots of eating spots handy and just a 12min walk to Kata Beach (which is a safe beach for swimming)or 100Bht by Tuk Tuk. Although a big resort staff we excellent and the complex very clean. Will be back again.
