Description
Spread out over 55-rai, this sprawling, all-inclusive resort remains a good choice, but its glory is starting to fade. The pools are a big draw -- five of them altogether, some quite beautiful and all surrounded by almost botanical gardens, featuring statuary that ranges from the ridiculous to the sublime. This place is big, almost too big, with some of the rooms up to a ten-minute walk from the reception desk, and a bit of a hike to the beach. The decor is a kind of Thai-colonial fusion, and it doesn't quite have the pizzazz you'd find at a place like the Karon Beach Resort. Still, the rooms are spacious, with all the expected amenities, and the deluxe rooms have excellent balconies. The Queen of Thailand stayed here a few years ago, so how bad can it be? There are five restaurants, one with a stunning view of the beach, and an Italian place with a wood-fired pizza oven.

This is a massive, family-orientated resort that is also popular with tour groups, in a good setting just off the main road.
