The four-storey Baan Karonburi is a comfortable mid-sized resort that's spitting distance to Karon Beach. It isn't overly ornate and seems a tad over-priced for what you get. Nevertheless, the rooms are tasteful and have the usual trimmings of air-con, satellite TV, and mini-bar plus thoughtful extras like an umbrella and hairdryer. There's a big swimming pool and a mini version for the kids, but they're stuck out at the rear of the resort. Staff are very professional and there's the 24-hour security guard out front impressively clicks his heels as leave and helps younger guests safely cross the road to the beach. Rates include taxes and surcharges.
